five years

Five years ago today, I married my best friend.

Over dinner we were talking about the past year - the changes and how God brought us through all of them. This time last year I never would have guessed the adventure waiting for us. I never imagined us days from getting off the plane from Africa - hearts bursting from an experience that forever changed us.

But God did.

And that's been our prayer for the past few years - that whatever we do, we buy into HIS story for our lives and not our own. Our story? It's flawed and messy and full of fear. But, God has a way of redeeming us to His purpose. He has this uncanny ability to mold us and shape us - refining the rough edges.

I don't know what this next year holds. But God does. And if it's anything like this past year - I know an incredible adventure awaits.

I just can't believe I get to do it holding his hand.
